Sunny came to yoga in 2008, after years of a desk job and inactivity led to recurring and debilitating back pain. She believes that yoga is responsible for her quality of life, and that staying active is the best gift we can give ourselves at any age. Yoga in particular has helped teach her how important it is to hold space for herself; it’s helped her to weather dark times and to enjoy great ones, and she loves to share it with people who might also benefit.

Sunny is a DFW native who ran away to California for a year or so before her love of family, friends, and queso forced her to abandon the Golden State and return to the home of her heart. During her time in California she learned a lot from different studios and found that yoga could also serve as a balm for homesickness.

When she’s not at the studio she maintains a corporate gig, and you can also sometimes find her performing in local theater productions. After returning home in 2017, and after considering it for many years, Sunny decided to finally pursue her 200 hour instructor certification at Lotus. She’s looking forward to learning more about herself and her students as her practice continues to grow.
