About Radiant Child Yoga: This is a program developed by a long-time yoga and Montessori school teacher, Shakta Khalsa. We believe that a child is naturally radiant, aware and full of innocent wisdom. The deeper purpose of teaching children yoga is to help them maintain their natural wisdom and radiance; or if their light has been dulled by events in their lives, to help them regain their inherent state of being. Radiant Child Yoga includes centering, chanting/mantras, warm-ups, positive affirmations, breath work, asana (physical postures), songs, games, cooperation work/partner yoga, meditation, deep relaxation and guided imagery. Classes may sometimes include storytime and/or art depending on the theme of the class.
